I've been using the Kindle Scribe for about six months now, and it's time to share my thoughts on it. Previously, I stuck with the Kindle Paperwhite series, mainly because I prefer not to carry large items around. Over time, I've tried various e-readers like Boox and iReader, and even dabbled with iPads—Mini, Air, and Pro. But none satisfied me like the Kindle Scribe. It seems tailor-made for my needs. I'm an avid reader, but iPads never worked for me as e-readers; they were too distracting, and writing on their glass surfaces felt too rigid, even with a paper-like screen protector. The Apple Pencil felt heavy, and overall, it just didn't suit my taste.
I did consider the reMarkable 2 but, being somewhat of an early adopter, I still have a penchant for the analog—writing notes in pencil on paper. I originally bought the Scribe not for its note-taking capabilities but to read more comfortably as my eyesight isn't what it used to be. Surprisingly, I found the writing experience excellent when I started taking notes during lectures, lacking a notebook. It's made studying in my later years enjoyable, jotting down notes as the device responds quickly. While Boox was decent for writing, it became slower over time, but the Scribe has maintained its responsiveness. I'm already looking forward to the next version, possibly a Scribe 2, if Amazon releases it. Since getting it, I've been reading more, and it conveniently supports Korean and Chinese books through the Send to Kindle feature. It's been a game-changer for me.
